SanibLakas Foundation:

An Introduction…

This is based on a presumed familiarity on the principle of synergism and its applications in actual synergies,  SanibLakas Foundation may be introduced comprehensively through  the following description  (the hyperlinks lead to elaboration on the phrases):

ET’S START WITH Ms. A.  She has been a peacemaker all her life, trying to mediate between feuding friends, cracking the certainties of their anger at one another  by invoking the “benefit of the doubt,” and feels very happy with the harmony she helps to restore.

Then, there’s Mr. B, a leader-organizer since adolescence, and he has discovered that building team-work gets the job done easier and faster, and develops many other leader-organizers around him.

Ms. C. is into management of people. As assistant to a general manager with dozens of people spread all over the country to pursue a program under complex conditions and the pressure of high expectations,  she has come to discern which management practices empowers the work force and which practices turn them into reluctant machines.  She dreams of the time she can put her learnings to practice.

Mr. D. is the scholarly type who has familiarized himself with the latest theories integrating philosophy and cosmology, and has recently discovered that the same laws of cohesion and synergy that apply to nature apply as well to human interactions and human self-actualization.

And there are others working in their own respective and respectable ways in building harmonies in various areas of concern.

Separately, they have all discerned the value of human development and harmony through complementation, teamwork and the profound bonding strength of love. They were not all aware of the word “synergism,” and all its exciting nuances, but they have actually been strongly committed to pursue it as their way of life. All of them have separately resolved to pursue life-long missions that contribute, in their humble ways, to such a grand goal of attaining human harmony.  And each has been doing precisely that from day to day, despite the many distractive and divisive factors they have had to deal with in the struggle for survival.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they worked closely together as a team?

Synergy-oriented individuals

SanibLakas members are synergy-oriented individuals.  They have been discovered and observed to have independently adopted as part of their respective missions in life the promotion and conscious application on day-to-day and long-term challenges to advance human development and harmony.  They fully recognize that while commonalities act as bonding elements, diversity is a source of dynamism for synergies and is therefore a resource to be valued. These are people who have the

(a)  conscious drive to make and maximize all opportunities to study the principle of synergism, and promote a wider awareness and deeper understanding of this principle,

(b) conscious drive to make and maximize all opportunities to build and strengthen synergies to advance human development and harmony  in all circumstances,

(c)  strong personal commitment, sense of responsibility, and sense of efficiency relative to any tasks given and accepted,

(d) continuing development and sharing of individual skills and knowledge needed for better effectiveness in the service positive goals,

(e)  readiness to be a team player and maximize synergy in all facets for any or all positive efforts, continuing development and application of readiness and ability to unite, network, cooperate and/or team up with other entities including, and perhaps more so, those who are different in approaches, styles, priorities, capabilities, etc., continuing development and application of readiness and ability to act as living bridges for networking, cooperation and team-ups among diverse groups, whether or not belonging to any of them.

Formalized synergy

SanibLakas Foundation is a compact organization, with a definite membership and membership recruitment and development systems, management and coordinative functionaries and an elected leadership, with definite respective duties and prerogatives to make for healthy teamwork. It has acquired the official status as a foundation with the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Republic of the Philippines. Its status and systems make it a formalized synergy of persons who freely decide to work within its embrace.

Vision: Human Development and Harmony

SanibLakas envisions a planetary society where human development is advanced faster and most comprehensively in an atmosphere of harmony, as sustained by the level of human development already attained at any time, especially of human maturity with all people manifesting a predisposition to  synergize among themselves and with Nature. In such society, individual human beings are continually empowered in their spirituality, self-discovery and self-actualization, and entire sections of the population are empowered to guarantee continuing social and economic upliftment for broader human development and harmony.

Mission: Twin-Tasks for Synergism

SanibLakas Foundation exists to perform these twin tasks: (1) to promote synergism consciousness and (2) build actual synergies.  To promote such consciousness, each member is mandated to pursue continuing personal and shared education on this principle.  To help build synergies, each member is expected to attain a strong inner synergy as a person (integrity of body, mind and spirit, integrity of thoughts, words and deeds), and to exemplify the ways of synergism in interacting with other people (shared-self mindset in self-actualization). The foundation stands  to orchestrate and synergize the members’ efforts in these mission. This organization is mission-driven and synergy-powered.

Members teaming up among themselves

Accepting the invitation to join SanibLakas Foundation as a member is the basic way these people team up among themselves.  Only persons who believe on team-play in various synergism-oriented efforts and are therefore ready at least to communicate with team-mates frequently concerning their work, are invited and sworn into the organization.

SanibLakas fully respects and institutionalizes the right of each member to decide how best to pursue what was in the first place her/his own personal sense of mission.  Members are asked to choose which among existing programs, specific projects or activities to concentrate their efforts on for about a year, or seeing none to suit their best preferences, they are allowed to propose  new lines of work that would promote synergism-awareness and/or build actual synergies.  Because we believe synergism to be the best approach to our various efforts, members who have chosen the same programs or projects are formed into teams (SanibLakas Teams or SLTs) or, in the case of pioneering work, form special team arrangements.   To remain in active status, all members are required to work within a team (or within a special team arrangement).

Membership in collegial leadership, management and coordinative bodies is a function added to work within the SLTs, and the criteria for choice of persons to be elected or appointed to  such bodies is to be based in each case on meritorious work within these teams.

Members teaming up with kindred spirit

SanibLakas is a believer in team-ups.  Because its programs and projects are synergism-oriented, it has the confidence that persons most dedicated to the pursuit of these programs and projects are good teammates for collegial bodies leading program or project work or even for core groups initiating such work.  SLTs within a collegial leadership body or core group are not to act as blocks or cliques within these bigger team-ups (that would violate SanibLakas principles on equality, harmony and openness). They are mandated to meet as such only to recommend invitees for foundation membership, certify active status and recommend disciplinary actions concerning SLT members, or to process resignations and requests for transfer from such membership .

SanibLakas Foundation member

Having freely adopted as part of my personal life mission the promotion and conscious application of the synergism principle on day-to-day and long-term challenges to advance human development and harmony,

And conscious that synergism is a great magnifier of effectiveness whenever individual and energies are brought together in a working teamwork, with the commonality of intention and commitment as the strong bonding element and diversity as the dynamic factor,

I therefore now voluntarily and solemnly pledge, upon my honor, to be consistent and forthright with my commitment to the SanibLakas mission, to hone my skills and help others do the same with theirs, and to work as a good team player within the synergism-promoting organization of the SanibLakas ng Taongbayan Foundation. This I will do in such areas of work as I am most interested in and/or most appropriate for, and, upon such bases, create and maximize any and all opportunities for building strong synergies within my household, community, grouping, area, nation and global family.
